Co-working is collaborative working – or working collaboratively.
Although not the only mode of working it is a vitally important aspect of 21st Century work. Co-working or working collaboratively with others (even your competitors) on the edge of routine work is increasingly where high value work is. To be effective one has to practice and maintain the learnt skills of working collaboratively. It has its own practice and etiquette separate to that of working individually,
Collaborative working is as much an attitude and perspective as anything else. It is driven by need and personal passion, creativity and initiative. It recognises the power of connections and knowledge flows.
Co-working is the outward practice of understanding that the answer is the person (next to you) and the resources you need are in the group (around you) – this increasingly means being able to access and use the crowd and cloud. It is the way work will be increasingly done.
